We build best-in-class software to give our customers an unfair advantage in today's global market.
The SecuritEase Story
SecuritEase® International Limited began as an ambitious initiative within Scientific Software and Systems Limited (SSS), a New Zealand-based company founded in 1985.
Initially focused on providing software development services to scientific and engineering organisations, SSS pivoted in 2000 towards building contemporary systems for stock brokers and investment banks.
This shift led to the formation of two distinct divisions: a cybersecurity division and the SecuritEase capital markets software division, which soon became the company’s primary focus.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to advance our licensees’ competitiveness by partnering with them to deliver an industry leading solution that is quickly adapted to changing market conditions.
SecuritEase achieves this through innovative and tailored business practices and the use of enhanced technology.
Our Values and Culture
At SecuritEase, our values include integrity, innovation, excellence and team work.
Our company culture is an open, inclusive, curious, and one based on excellence and pride in our work. We trust our people to bring their creativity, problem solving, and best to work and we support each other to create truly great products.
Our recruiting processes are rigorous and we only accept exceptional candidates. With industry subject matter experts and a technical specialist workforce, we expect and deliver to the very highest standards.
Long before COVID 19, a majority of SecuritEase employees worked remotely from home and still do. We meet in-person at client sites for implementation projects, in our Wellington and Leatherhead offices, and to have fun with colleagues for celebratory and social events.
Our Technology
At SecuritEase, we have continuously developed our technology since our initial release in 2001. We currently operate both our 3-tier client-server and cloud-based containerised microservices architectures concurrently, as we progressively deprecate elements of the former in favour of new microservices and product development.
Our core system is built as a 3-tier, client-server architecture with Microsoft SQL Server running on Windows for the data layer, a first-order and formal logic declarative programming language based business logic layer, and a Java presentation layer.
Our new products are developed as cloud-agnostic, containerised microservices utilising Java, Scala, JS, React, Kafka, ProstgreSQL, Debezium and other contemporary technologies.
SecuritEase offers both on-premises and cloud-hosted SaaS deployment options. Our systems integrate with modern infrastructure components including Active Directory, load balancers, and multi-factor authentication.
Comprehensive security measures - including regular penetration testing, data encryption at rest and in transit, adherence to NIST and ISO 27001 patterns, and progression to SOC 2 Type 2 accreditation ensure our platform meets industry best practice standards.
2024 - United Kingdom
SecuritEase acquired Pulse Systems from IRESS, and separately TIARA Fintech Solutions Limited in 2024.
TIARA - an acronym for Tax and Investment Analysis Reporting and Administration, is a specialist tax and reporting SaaS platform. TIARA complements SecuritEase as both a standalone SaaS offering and as an integrated component of the SecuritEase product suite.
Pulse provides SecuritEase with an established UK market presence and a skilled and experienced local team. Development work has commenced to incorporate the UK local market nuanced requirements not currently present in SecuritEase into the broader product suite.
With the UK and South Africa in similar time zones, the company is further accelerating its growth to expand in this exciting market and intends to compete through retaining existing clients and winning business with market leading product features, a client partnering mode of operation, and outstanding support.
2016 - South Africa
SecuritEase expanded into the South African market in 2016, ultimately becoming a primary systems supplier to two large South African wealth managers and forming a strategic partnership with IRESS that yielded another 18 derivatives broker customers.
South Africa has become a significant innovation hub for SecuritEase adding to those in New Zealand and Australia and providing additional expertise and support for SecuritEase licensees in the near-GMT time zone.
2007 - Australia
SecuritEase successfully entered the Australian market and gained ASX CHESS accreditation for equities and DCS accreditation for exchange traded options (ETOs) in 2007 and 2010 respectively.
ASX's CHESS system remains among the world's most feature-rich registry, clearing, settlement, and post trade systems for dematerialised equity markets and the SecuritEase® System supports all CHESS message types and functions.
The SecuritEase® System in Australia supports clearing, settlement, cash management and margin lending solutions for brokers (online self-directed, wealth advisory, and institutional) and later expanded to support custodians, approved market operators, and mFund participants.
SecuritEase Australian market clients include online stockbrokers, institutional trading firms, investment banks, private wealth managers, third-party clearers, global custodians, and exchange venues.
2000 - New Zealand
SecuritEase commenced development in the New Zealand market in 2000 and by 2004 the SecuritEase® System was processing circa 70% the New Zealand Stock Exchange's (NZX) domestic equity transactions - all from a standing start.
Counterintuitively, but logically, New Zealand's small domestic equities and fixed income markets necessitated its stock broking and wealth management firms to offer multi-market, multi-asset-class, and multi-currency international service offerings to their clients.
These multi x multi x multi business requirements meant that the SecuritEase® System was designed from its inception to cater for all market and assets class combinations with a fully featured, integrated, multi-currency accounting system providing a full 'books & records' general ledger.
SecuritEase New Zealand market clients include online stockbrokers, private wealth managers, institutional trading desks, investment banks, and margin lenders.

The SecuritEase Group is privately owned and operates across eight countries.
SecuritEase serves over 30 licensees and transacts or routes over USD 1 Trillion securities value each year. We employ over 120 software development and subject matter experts.
